How to Get Google Adwords Management For Your BusinessGoogle Adwords Management falls under the SEO category of pay-per-click (PPC) or paid ads.  Google Adwords is a service feature that Google sells to the general business market all over the world and is also the prime way they make their money.  The idea and the advantage of Google Adwords is, since you are paying Big G for the service, they guarantee your digital advertisements will show up in their  sidebar when people perform a particular search using the keywords you’ve told Google you are interested in appearing for.  Bing which is owned by Microsoft also has a similar PPC service called, “Bing Ads” in which they provide the same service but their ads only show on Bing and Yahoo’s search engines.  Google has the largest market share and is the preferred search engine for most people but, both Google and Bing’s advertising service work the same and can be beneficial if managed correctly.

Now for the downside of Google Adwords and PPC in general. 

Google Adwords can be very expensive if you have any real competition in the cities that you are targeting.  Sure you get to set the max price you’re willing to pay in a given day but, the way the service works Google gives higher priority to business Adword accounts that are willing to pay more through their bidding system for the best keywords.

So imagine you are a Plastic Surgeon in NYC who is interested in showing up in Google’s Adwords side bar for the term “Plastic Surgeons in Manhattan” you can guarantee you will be paying tens of thousands of dollars a month to see any kind of return on your investment (ROI).  Why? Because plastic surgery is a business niche that has a lot of competition and features a high price tag for most operations.  If the typical operation $8,000-$12,000, you can bet the better, more affluent surgeons with the larger budgets are will to pay more and make a little less to keep their sales funnel active and aggressive.  Pay-per-click advertisements in this niche in particular can go as high as $90 per click! And there is no guarantee the surgeon paying for that click will get a phone call or even an email in return.

The other downside of Google Adwords that they don’t tell you about is, the daily search results and clicks are split between websites appearing in the (free) organic search results and paid search results (Google Adwords advertisements) which show in the sidebar on the top and right search results page.  Roughly 90% of all the people searching for a product, service or information click on the top results in the organic search results which are featured on the left side of the page.  10% of the other people searching click on the Adwords section on the right side of the page and of that 10% of the clicks they are split equally among all of the advertisers.  So if a keyword term is searched 100 times a day, 90 clicks will go the the top (free) organic search results and the remaining 10 clicks will be divided among the 10 PPC advertisements.  So the Adwords customer is often times paying for “impressions” that they will never get clicks or leads from!

Now can Google Adwords be profitable? Yes, of course they can but you need to be smart with how you spend your money.

Essentially, programmers have created code that learns and tracks the behavior of humans interacting with computers.

Add to that, the information that is tracked via your ip address, mac address (computer hardware serial number) and your Internet Service Provider, Google knows a whole lot about you and your habits.

They are not the only one tracking and using your habit data to their benefit, Facebook is also a big player in the game of data tracking.

Google’s machine learning software is called TensorFlow.

Google is not joking around when they say that they want to be the #1 company ever created.

They are at war with Facebook to become the go-to provider for all data sharing in the world.

Data Sharing and Machine Language go hand-in-hand and equal trillions in revenue for these companies.

Here’s what Google says about their Machine Intelligence endeavors:

“Research at Google is at the forefront of innovation in Machine Intelligence, with active research exploring virtually all aspects of machine learning, including deep learning and more classical algorithms. Exploring theory as well as application, much of our work on language, speech, translation, visual processing, ranking and prediction relies on Machine Intelligence. I often wondered how people who make apps that are free apps actually make money and at minimum, recoup the investment required to create an app.  The most viral, over-the-night sensation apps all cost money to make yet, they are free…how can that be?  The typical cost to have an app developed is $15k+ so how and why would someone want to make it free?

Here are a few reasons why developers offer their apps for free:

  1. Free Apps are the fastest most quickest way to gain an audience and following amongst the millions of apps currently available for Android and iPhone devices.
  2. Free Apps offer the developer a quick way to start making money on in-app, in-game purchases that enhance the user’s experience.
  3. What use is it to have an app developed that is great, yet no one uses the app because they are unfamiliar with your brand and the thought of paying for an app with out a following and a known-brand scares people away.

These days getting an app created is not as hard as it used to be.  With sites like O-Desk, Freelancer.com and the like, you have access to developers from all over the world that are eager to work with you.  Clearly you need to have a game-plan on vetting would-be-developers but, none the less, this lowers the cost of app development.

Free apps are a great marketing tool as well.  Think of the advantage businesses have when they offer free apps to their customer base.  Now they have customers who think of them every time they use their smartphone and see that free app icon sitting on their screen.

Even having an app that’s not immediately relate-able to their product holds an advantage just because they gave it away free.  Of course the app needs to be useful but, that’s part of the creative process that should be apparent before finding a developer and spending money.

Free apps are the way the big boys go about making money through apps.  If you are an entrepreneur or business owner, maybe you too can have a useful app created.  Who knows it may open up a new line of revenue you never even considered.

1. Content Marketing Is Expensive

MYTH & TRUTH: Creating a good, long post, a valuable ebook, not to mention -a video – can consume lots of time and energy of your team. If you have already forged this Opus Magnum, use it more than once!

One piece can be used in several ways. Take care of multiple sharing for your recipients’ good. It’s called repurposing, which means if you put so much effort into creating something valuable, you should distribute it widely and translate it into other educational forms: transform the ample blog post into an infographic, a slideshow, a webinar, and then combine it with some others and give people the new free ebook.

Mold multiple materials from one piece of content and it pays itself – but only if you can get as much as possible from it.

2. Content Must Be Packed With Keywords To Be Visible Among Search Results

MYTH: Definitely not! Current Google’s algorithms are way too smart for this trick. More important is for a post to be fresh and liked by human readers.

3. It’s Hard To Measure Content Marketing Efficacy

MYTH: Although revenues from this practice might be rather long-term, you can easily establish KPI’s for your content. They are:

  • Website (blog) Traffic
  • Returning Readers Percentage
  • Time Spent on Website
  • CTA Conversion Rate
  • Number of Leads from Particular Source (e.g. ebook downloads)

4. It’s Likes, Shares and Viral Distribution That Counts

MYTH & TRUTH: Your post became the hottest ticket in town? Users spread it from wall to wall, from tweet to retweet? Bombastic! Now it’s time to think about true, measurable profits it can bring you. Do new recipients equal new leads? Will they ever come back to your blog?

We don’t want to spoil it for you. It’s rather about making you think of this simple fact: bare likes won’t mean a thing. There must be an idea that includes them into the overall lead and customer acquiring strategy. Does your content do that? Do you combine posts with Lead Generation strategies?

5. Quality Is Everything

TRUTH: Good, valuable, relevant posts or those that show the issue from a new angle are crucial for your marketing. Nonetheless, research shows an interesting oddity: while 92% of companies claim they produce high-quality content, only 54% of them rated their content strategy as efficient (source).

Where did that come from? It might occur that both: entrepreneurs and marketers are way too optimistic about their content, which isn’t that good as they see it. It’s really hard to say something new today and make it interesting and digestible.

The second option (rather complementary than alternative) is that the content is great but the lead acquisition strategy, tactic of keeping users on the website and contact forms fail. In other words, you may write Pulitzer-winning articles, but they don’t convert into sales. Effect: it is all just a load of hot air.

6. You’re Obliged To Write About A Product Or A Business

MYTH: Although your content should be educational, don’t restrain your blog to be expanded product catalog or leaflet. Focus on materials useful for your readers. Identify the target group and write something practical for them.

Look at this blog – posts not directly related to marketing automation did their work. Many of our readers are owners and marketers in SMB, so they loved “100 free online tools for business: planning, SEO, content, social media.”

Also, they liked non-Marketing-Automation post about the world’s youngest entrepreneurs – it was original and exciting (a little ego boost for us).

There’s no need to stick to your niche and write only about the product and its entourage. It will drain your ideas within few weeks!

7. Content Marketing = Blog

MYTH: No! Content marketing has many blog-concentrated forms that reach further than your domain. Video, infographics, ebooks, templates, webinars or podcasts will definitely spice up your content collection and make them more interesting. It also makes using them easier: you can forge a nice webinar from an ebook, and your readers will be given an opportunity to decide which form they prefer.
